Bishop of Clogher, Ireland on 31 March 1707. Apostolic Administrator of Kilmore, Ireland from 1711 to 1728. Archbishop of Armagh, Ireland from 8 July 1715 until his death; he served over 22 years. During times of persecution, he said Mass and administered Confirmation in the open air.
