Archbishop Peter Lombard

Profile

Studied at Louvain, France. Priest. Archbishop of Armagh, Ireland in 1601. As he was unable to go to there, the diocese was administered by David Rothe. Lombard wrote a treatise on Ireland and for a time presided over the Congregatio de Auxiliis which looked into the Jesuit and Dominican controversy on grace.
