Bishop Alfredo Verzosa y Florentin

Profile

Ordained on 24 December 1904. Bishop of Lipa, Philippines on 6 September 1916; he served over 34 years until his retirement. Founder of the Missionary Cathechists of the Sacred Heart. Claimed to have witnessed some of the Miracles of the Roses in which the Blessed Virgin Mary is reported to have appeared in a Carmelite convent in Lipa, Batangas, Philippines in the late 1940′s and early 1950′s; it is under investigation. Titular bishop of Capsa on 25 February 1951.
