Son of Johann III, Lord of Diepholz, and of Countess Kunigunde von Oldenburg. Bishop of Utrecht, Netherlands from 26 September 1426 until his death; he served for over 28 years. Apostolic Administrator of Osnabrück, Germany on 30 August 1454. One of the most influential Prince-Bishops of Utrecht in the late Middle Ages.
