AGILUS (AISLE, AIL) Abbot (August 30) (7th century) A young nobleman of the Frankish Court who became a disciple of the Irish Saint Columbanus at Luxeuil in Eastern France. There he lived a holy life under Saint Eustasius for many years. Later he went as a missionary into Bavaria, and finally became Abbot of Rebais, near Paris, where he died A.D. 650, at the age of sixty-six.
