Article

AIZAN and SAZAN (Saints) Martyrs Confessors (October 1) (4th century) Two brothers, kings or chieftains in Abyssinia, distinguished for their attachment to the Catholic Faith and for their zeal in propagating Christianity in Africa. They were honoured with the friendship of the great Saint Athanasius. One or other of them appears to have survived till nearly the year 400, and their cultus was at once, after their deaths, established among the Ethiopians.
