ALCHMUND and GILBERT (TILBERT) (Saints) Bishops (September 7) (8th century) Two Bishops of Hexham in Northumbria, the one and the other locally venerated as a Saint. Saint Alchmund died after thirteen years of Episcopate (A.D. 780), and his successor Saint Gilbert, nine years later.
