ALMEDHA (ELED, ELEVETHA) Virgin Mary (August 1) (6th century) A daughter or granddaughter of the famous King Brychan of Brecknock. The tradition is that she suffered martyrdom in a hill near Brecknock, at the hands of the heathen, sometime in the sixth century.
