ANTONINUS (Saint) Martyr (August 22) (2nd century) One of the public executioners in Rome under the Emperor Commodus. While awaiting the result of the trial of Saint Eusebius and other Christians (A.D. 186), he saw a vision of Angels and, proclaiming himself a Christian, was himself beheaded, winning first of all that company, the Martyr’s crown.
