AQUILA (Saint) Martyr (May 20) (4th century) An Egyptian Christian, torn to pieces with iron combs (A.D. 311), in the persecution under the Emperor Maximinus Daza, by order of Arianus, Governor of Thebes, who subsequently himself became a Christian and suffered martyrdom in the same persecution.
