BANDARIDUS (BANDERIK, BANDERY) (Saint) Bishop (August 9) (6th century) A French Saint, who, appointed Bishop of Soissons (A.D. 540), was banished the country by King Clothaire I, and worked for seven years, without making himself known, as gardener in an English Abbey. At length, Clothaire discovered his place of refuge, and recalled him to his See (A.D. 554). He died A.D. 666, and was buried in the Abbey of Saint Crispin, which he had founded.
