Book of Saints – Basil, Eugene, Agathodorus, Elpidius, Aetherius, Capito, Ephrem, Nestor and Arcadius

Article

BASIL, EUGENE, AGATHODORUS, ELPIDIUS, AETHERIUS, CAPITO, EPHREM, NESTOR and ARCADIUS (Saints) Bishops, Martyrs (March 4) (4th century) These nine holy pastors of souls flourished at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth centuries. Seven of them were sent as missionary Bishops to the Crimea and south of Russia; but Nestor and Arcadius had their Sees in the Island of Cyprus. All alike are honoured as Martyrs by the Greeks on March 7, and by the Latins on March 4, though it is doubtful if either Nestor or Arcadius perished at the hands of the enemies of the Faith.
