BERNARD of OFFIDA (Blessed) (August 22) (17th century) An Italian peasant who became a Capuchin lay-brother. He was distinguished for his charity to the poor and for the wonderful graces lavished upon him by Almighty God. He died A.D. 1694 at the age of ninety.
