BERTHOLD (Saint) (October 21) (11th century) An Anglo-Saxon whose parents had fled from England at the Norman Conquest (A.D. 1066) and settled in Italy, first at Milan and afterwards at Parma, where the Saint was born. He became a lay-brother in the monastery of Saint Alexander, where he lived a humble and saintly life, and where his relics are preserved. He died about the year 1101.
