Book of Saints – Domitius – 23 October

Article

DOMITIUS (Saint) (October 23) (8th century) A priest of the Diocese of Amiens, who retired into a solitude where he practised austere penance. He flourished either in the seventh or in the eighth century of our Era. But the Lives we have of him are of late date and little reliance is to be placed upon them. Surius maintains and, it would seem, with good reason, that Saint Domitius was not a priest but only a deacon, and as such he is described in the Proper Lections of his Office.
