[portrait of Blessed Joachim]Article

(Saint) (April 16) (14th century) Born at Siena of the noble family of the Pelicani, when fourteen years old, he received the Religious Habit of the Servite Order at the hands of Saint Philip Benizi. As a Religious, he excelled in every virtue, above all in humility, which in him was so dominant that he never could be prevailed upon to suffer himself to be promoted to the priesthood. His devotion to the Blessed Virgin was boundless and lifelong. He died at Siena (A.D. 1305) at the age of forty-six.
