Book of Saints – John Francis Regis

[Saint John Francis Regis]Article

(Saint) (June 16) (17th century) A Jesuit Saint, a man of truly Apostolic life, whose heart was ever on fire with the Love of God and of his neighbour. Born A.D. 1597 in Languedoc (France), he entered the Society of Jesus at the age of eighteen, and was ordained priest fifteen years later. From then to his holy death (December 31, A.D. 1640), he may be said to have spent every day of his life in preaching, catechising and hearing confessions. His field of work was Central and Southern France. Countless were the conversions of sinners with which Almighty God blessed his zeal. In life and in death he worked miracles, and was canonised by Pope Clement XII (A.D. 1737).
