(Blessed) (May 10) (16th century) Born at Toledo and early entering the Ecclesiastical state, this holy man devoted his whole life to preaching and to giving spiritual help to others. He is looked upon as the father and master of the Spanish Saints and Mystics of his time. Saint Teresa, Saint John of God, Saint Francis Borgia and others owed much to his wise direction. He died May 10, A.D. 1569.
