ALEXANDRIA (MARTYRS OF) (February 28) (3rd century) The Church recognises as Martyrs to charity a number of clerics and of laymen who sacrificed their lives (A.D. 261) in ministering to the plague-stricken in a terrible pestilence at that time raging in Alexandria.
