It is a favorite subject in art; famous examples include Guido Reni’s in the Corsini Gallery, Rome, Van Dyck’s in the Frederick Museum, Berlin, and representations by Bartolommeo, Borgognone, Caracci, Correggio, Dolci, Guercino, Heinz, Ludovico, Mantegna, Montagna, Morales, Multscher, Murillo, Palma, Rembrandt, Solario, and Titian.
