Catecismo de Saint Peter Canisius
Publicado en tres formas: principal (1555), menor (1558), y minimus (1556). La división de la materia es como sigue: Fe (el Credo de los Apóstoles); Esperanza y Rezo (el Rezo del Señor, Saludo Mary); Caridad y los Mandamientos de Dios y la Iglesia; los Sacramentos; Justicia cristiana, es decir, rechazar de mal y hacer de los buenos. Por sus catecismos Saint Canisius se hizo “el mazo de herejes”; ellos fueron traducidos en cada lengua en Europa y reimprimidos en ediciones innumerables, de modo que el nombre Canisius se hiciera sinónimo del catecismo. The division of the subject-matter is as follows: Faith (Apostles’ Creed); Hope and Prayer (Lord’s Prayer, Hail Mary); Charity and the Commandments of God and the Church; the Sacraments; Christian Justice, i.e., the shunning of evil and the doing of good. Through his catechisms Saint Canisius became the “mallet of heretics”; they were translated into every language in Europe and reprinted in countless editions, so that the name Canisius became synonymous with catechism.
