Consejo de Trent
Diecinueve consejo ecuménico. Sostenido en Trent, Italia del 13 de diciembre de 1545 al 4 de diciembre de 1563. Su objeto principal era la determinación definitiva de las doctrinas de la Iglesia en la respuesta a herejías Protestantes. Un objeto adicional era una reforma cuidadosa de la vida interior de la Iglesia quitando los numerosos abusos que se habían desarrollado en ello. Its main object was the definitive determination of the doctrines of the Church in answer to Protestant heresies. A further object was a thorough reform of the inner life of the Church by removing the numerous abuses that had developed in it.
