Profile

Priest of the vicariate of Rome. Missionary to Turkey in the Fidei Donum program. Murdered in church, reportedly as an anti-Christian attack. Preliminary work is underway on his Cause for Canonization has been introduced, and an examination into his possible martyrdom.

• 7 September 1945 in Priverno, Latina, Italy

Died

• shot from behind with a 9mm handgun on 5 February 2006 while kneeling in prayer in the Santa Maria Church in Trabzon, Turkey
• he was killed by Oguzhan Akdin who was 16 years old at the time and claimed to have been influenced by anti-Christian propaganda and the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoon controversy
