There is no prayer like that which comes pouring from you, you speaking to God, or letting the Spirit speak through you. That's the real stuff, the call of "Abba!" sailing to heaven like incense. Whether it's a cry of love or joy or despair or need or revelation, when it comes from the heart, it's a type of communion achieved no other way.
That having been said, I will also say that there is a place for written prayers, both the standards like the Our Father or Hail Mary, or the whisperings of a long dead saint. Maybe you feel the need to pray but haven't the words. Maybe you need a jumping off point for you own prayer. Or maybe you just want an insight into the spiritual mind of that long dead saint.
Anyway, I hope you get something from these beautiful love letters to God.
God wants to hear from you. It's why He invented prayer.|
