American Catholic Quarterly Review
Established at Philadelphia, 1876, by Reverend James A. Corcoran, Reverend James O'Connor, and George Dering Wolff.
The first issue appeared in January with Father Corcoran as editor-in-chief.
The editorial policy of the review, as inscribed on the first page of each issue, permits complete freedom of expression outside of the domain of defined doctrines.
The "Review" has had a strong influence in behalf of Catholic apologetics, and notably in the discussions which led to the foundation of the Catholic University of America.
