Remarkable early converts in the United States.
Virgil Barber (1782-1847), an Episcopalian minister, son of Daniel Barber (1756-1834), likewise a minister, became a Catholic in 1817, together with his wife and five children.
They were followed into the Church by Mrs. Daniel Barber (Chloe Case Sims), her husband, and seven children.
Virgil Barber and his wife entered religion, he becoming a Jesuit and she a Visitation nun, their profession taking place on the same day in Georgetown convent.
All their children became religious.
