Pope Boniface II

[Pope Boniface II] Reigned from 530 to 532. Born c.450; died Rome. He was of Germanic ancestry. While archdeacon, he was nominated as next pope by Felix IV, who feared a schism. After Felix died, the Roman clergy elected Dioscorus. Both were consecrated but the schism ended in 22 days with the latter's death. During his pontificate the Semi-pelagian controversy was ended by the Second Council of Orange.
