Publius Licinius Egnatius Gallienus

[Publius Licinius Egnatius Gallienus] (c.218-268) Roman emperor, died Milan. On succeeding his father, Valerian, Gallienus put an end to the persecution of the Christians, begun in 257. He was assassinated at Milan, while besieging Aureolus, whom the troops in Italy had proclaimed imperator.
