Comprises the counties of Arthur, Banner, Blaine, Box Butte, Brown, Buffalo, Cherry, Cheyenne, Custer, Dawes, Deuel, Garfield, Grant, Greeley, Hooker, Howard, Keyapaha, Kimball, Logan, Loup, McPherson, Rock, Scott's Bluff, Sheridan, Sherman, Wheeler, Sioux, Thomas, Valley, and those portions of Dawson, Hall, Lincoln, and Keith lying north of the South Platte River; area, 40,000 square miles; erected at Kearney, 8 March 1912; transferred to Grand Island, 11 April 1917; suffragan of Dubuque.
