Pope John VI

[Pope John VI] Reigned from 30 October 701 to 11 January 705. Born in Greece; died in Rome, Italy. During his pontificate he secured a cessation of Lombard attacks upon different parts of Italy. He confirmed Brithwald as archbishop of Canterbury. Settled the claims of Saint Wilfrid, and reinstalled him in his bishopric at York.
