[Christoph Wilhelm Hufeland] The most renowned German physician of his day. Born 12 August 1762 at Langensalza, Thuringia; died 25 August 1836. Professor of therapeutics and pathology at Berlin. Author of works on medicine and physiology, particularly a famous work on macrobiotics.
