Edmund Bailey O'Callaghan
Physician and historian; born Mallow, County Cork, Ireland, 27 February 1797; died New York, New York, 29 May 1880.
He graduated in medicine at Paris and settled in Montreal, but having been attainted of treason through his participation in a rebellion to secure popular rights, 1837, he fled to the United States and settled at Albany.
After writing the "," he was officially appointed to compile the documents bearing on New York State and colonial history.
