Order of the Presentation; Sisters of the Sacred Heart
Founded at Cork, Ireland, 1775, by Nano (Honoria) Nagle, under the title Sisters of the Sacred Heart (which was changed to Presentation Sisters, 1791), for the education of the young.
The Rule is adapted from Saint Augustine.
The Order has been in the United States since the foundation at San Francisco, 1854.
All communities are independent of each other.
The sisters conduct schools and orphanages in England, Ireland, Australia, India, Newfoundland, and the United States.
