New Catholic Dictionary – Saint Dichu

Confessor (4th and 5th century), died Saul, Ireland. The son of an Ulster chieftain, Dichu was Saint Patrick’s first convert in Ireland, and he presented Saint Patrick with ground at Saul for his first Irish church. He became a model of sanctity. Feast, 29 April.
