Confessor, apostle of Naples; born Grottaglie, Italy, 1642; died Naples, Italy, 1716. He was ordained, 1666, and spent four years teaching at the college of nobles in Naples. In 1670 he entered the Society of Jesus and for 40 years devoted himself to the evangelization of Naples. One of the most eloquent preachers of his time, he confirmed his work by striking miracles. Patron of Grottaglie. Canonized, 1839. Feast, 11 May.
