Confessor, born Fontcouverte, France, 1597; died at La Louvesc, France, 1640. He entered the Society of Jesus, 1616, and was ordained, 1630. Gifted with a marvelous talent for missions, he labored for the conversion of the Huguenots, assisted the needy, and aided in the rescue of wayward women. On the site of his death the Institute of the Sisters of Saint Regis of the Cenacle was founded in 1888. Canonized, 1739. Body at Louvesc. Feast, 16 June.
