Apostle of Guatemala, and Texas, born Valencia, Spain, 1657; died Mexico, 1726. He entered the Franciscan Order in 1673, and after his ordination set out for the Indian missions in America, 1683. Arriving at Santa Cruz, he was stationed at Queretaro college. He preached missions in Yucatan, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Texas. Despite the rigorous life, he practised severe personal mortification. Declared Venerable, 1836.
