Writers Needed
Dear SQPNers,
We're looking for experienced copywriters who are looking to volunteer some time to help out with some RA and SQPN writing tasks, mainly press releases, website copy, first drafts on articles, and assistance writing first drafts for the narration parts of our new magazine style podcast. The first assignment would be for the narration parts of the new magazine script. We have samples to help you get started.
If you are an experienced writer, familiar with Google docs, and want to help, please send me an email at greg@sqpn.com. Be sure to put "copywriter" in the subject line. That way it'll automatically get filed in the right folder and won't get lost with my other email. :)
Be sure to include:
- A resume
- Writing samples
- Availability
Again, this is an unpaid volunteer position, but it's a position that we really need help with. We could potentially use two or three experienced writers. God willing, as SQPN grows, this could be something that becomes permanent, but we need to start small and pray for the best.
Thanks much, and we look forward to reading some of your samples!

Last week's questions
- Let's say you're Catholic. What does that word actually mean?
It means universal, as in The Universal Church. The earliest known use of the phrase "the Catholic Church" is by Saint Ignatius of Antioch in the Letter to the Smyrneans, written c.110.
- What's a stole, and who uses one?
A liturgical vestment composed of a strip of material from two to four inches wide and about eighty inches long. A small cross is generally sewed or embroidered on the stole at both ends and in the middle. A stole is worn by deacons, priests and bishops as a mark of priestly office. Deacons wear the stole like a sash across the left shoulder, priests around the neck.
- Name three angels.
There are three mentioned in the Catholic version of the Bible
I suppose if you knew the name of your Guardian Angel, well, we'd have to count that. And the Eastern Orthodox tradition includes Uriel, an archangel mentioned in many old texts, all of which were considered apocrphyal or pseudopigraphal by the Catholic Church.
So, let's again reach in the cowl of trivia/
- Who was the Catholic rival to Queen Elizabeth I of England?
- Name the occupations of three authors of the New Testament.
- Who ordains priests? How about deacons? And bishops?
Answers next time around.
