About the Site Author

My name is Terry H Jones, and I'm an adult convert to Christianity of the Roman Catholic variety (thanks to Bob, and to Sister Mary Leon, who has gone to meet the saints). I'm 49, married as far back as I can remember, have five kids from ages 20 to 28, and six grand-kids from 2 to 10. I work as a minor civil servant in western Kentucky USA. I like jazz, blues and Celtic music, fairy tales and folklore, storytelling, radio theater and OTR, photography (that's me behind the old Mavica), constructed languages, working in stained glass, and those smart-channel television shows of clever people doing things (Scrapheap Challenge, Mythbusters, etc.). Guess what I'm saying is, I'm kind of a Catholic nerd.

About the Saints Material

Realizing that saints were part of my new, adopted family of God, and being by nature a pack-rat, I started gathering information about them. I was especially fascinated by the concept of patron saints. Being raised in Baptist churches of assorted stripe, I had trouble shaking off the feeling that there was something un-Christian about it all. Eventually I understood that it was just a function of keeping touch with family members who've done good. By that point I'd found a lot of information in disparate sources; I thought some one else might benefit from it, and I decided to write a sort of online reference book.

About the Prayer Material

I realized that my prayer life consisted of exasperated interior cries of "Father, what am I supposed to get from this?" The pack-rat problem applied to the prayers, as well, and I began to collect some of the prayers whispered by the people of God during the last couple of thousand years. Here you'll find some of them, and maybe how they relate to the saints since so many were by or about them.

Hope you find something you like at this site. Thanks for dropping by. Mention me in your prayers. I could use it.

Yours in Christ, Terry.
