Son of a Celtic chieftain, possibly from the area of Strathclyde, Scotland; related to Saint Asaph of Llanelwy. Founded monasteries in Gwynedd and Flintshire. May have been the first bishop of Bangor, Wales. Worked with Saint David of Wales.
