Married and father of at least two sons who served as bishops, one of whom was Saint Veranus of Vence. In 422 he became a monk at Lérins, France, and his wife Galla became a nun. Bishop of Lyon, France in 434. Presided over the Council of Orange in 441. Worked with Saint Hilary of Arles. Wrote works on asceticism.
