Archbishop of Arles, France, appointed by Pope Saint Gregory the Great. Papal vicar in Gaul. Ordained Saint Augustine of Canterbury. Had to be reprimanded by Saint Gregory for coercing Jews, and allowing their forced “conversion”. Constructed several churches in Arles.
