Profile: Daughter of an emperor of Rome. Dressed as a man and lived in the desert as a hermit called Dorotheus. Spiritual student of Saint Macarius in Egypt. Her sex was discovered only at her death. It's possible this is another case of pious fiction being mistaken for history.
