Profile: Son of Count Arnold of Lambach, Austria. Studied in Paris. Bishop of Würzburg. Driven from his see in 1085 for supporting Pope Gregory VII against Emperor Henry IV. Unable to govern his bishopric while in exile, he returned to the life of a monk at Lambach.
