- Bishop of Nilopolis, Egypt, a small island in the middle of the River Nile south of Memphis.
He was a very old man when the persecutions of Decius begain in 250.
To escape he fled into the deserts, and was never seen again.

considered a martyr as he was fleeing persecution of the faith
