Blessed Cosmas da Carboniam

Priest in the Armenian Church in 1683. Convert to Catholicism in 1696. Pastor of Saint George's in Sulu Monastir from 1697 to 1707 during a period of bitter persecution of Uniats in the Ottoman Empire. Father Carboniam was arrested in April, 1707, as "rebellious to the laws of the Ottoman Empire," but was released. In November, 1707, he was arrested again due to riots of schismatic priests and laity. Sentenced to death for being Catholic.
