- Born to the nobility.
As a young man he set fire in a forest that caused great damage.
Another man was wrongly accused of setting it, was convicted, and paid a heavy fine.
The guilt finally overcame Corrado who confessed, abandoned his wealth, and in 1343 devoted the rest of his life as a prayerful, penitential hermit at Noto.
He became a spiritual leader among the local people.
Miracle worker.
Considered a saint by the people of Noto who, immediately after his death, began treating him as their patron.
This led to censorship of the people by the Vatican for usurping the authority of the Pope; the penalty was lifted when Corrado was beatified.
