Kidnapped as an infant by a mentally ill man, his parents prayed fervently to the Virgin Mary for help; searchers were led to his hiding place by a miraculous light, and the baby was returned unharmed.
Joined the Dominicans at Savona, Italy.

Famous preacher throughout Italy with hundreds converted during his missions.
Known as a miracle worker in life, there were miracles reported at his tomb, and he became the object of popular devotion almost immediately on his death.
