- Ranking officer in the imperial army of Constantine the Great.
Roman consul.
In 330 he retired from his military and political duties, moving to Ostia where he founded a hospital and spent the remainder of his life caring for the sick.
In earlier times times he was described as being exiled to Alexandria, and martyred, but this was apparently not the case.
