Blessed Humbert

Profile: Benedictine monk at Chaise-Deux. Monk at Clairvaux in 1117. Prior at Clairvaux, appointed by Saint Bernard. Abbot at Igny in 1127. Humbert tried to return to Clairvaux, but was ordered back to Igny by Bernard under pain of monastic excommunication. Bernard delivered a touching homily at Humbert's funeral Mass.
